cleverbridge to Present at MRC’s 2014 European and U.S. Platinum Meetings

cleverbridge, a global full-service e-commerce provider for software and cloud companies, announces it will be participating in three speaking sessions at MRC’s 2014 European and U.S. Platinum Meetings to be held Sept. 24-26 in Copenhagen, Denmark and Oct. 6-8 in Newport Beach, Calif.

Organized by the Merchant Risk Council (MRC), the European and U.S. Platinum Meetings are the premier professional development and networking events for e-commerce payments and fraud professionals.

At MRC’s European Platinum Meeting, cleverbridge Fraud Prevention Team Leader Torsten Knörr will join Franz-Xaver Guttenbegrer of Omniga GmbH and moderator Grit Ruehling of insparx GmbH to present “SEPA Consumers Experience and Fraud Trends 60 Days After Launch” on Sept. 25 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Merchants accepting traditional direct debit payments will learn about the challenges associated with transitioning to the new SEPA regulations. The session will cover the potential high risks for accepting/screening direct debits and provide best practices for managing and mitigating direct debit fraud.

At the U.S. Platinum Meeting, cleverbridge Fraud Prevention Team Leader Tim Russo will present “Chargebacks 201” on Oct. 6 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. A brand new workshop presented by MRC, Chargebacks 201 will tackle advanced topics in analytics and reporting, root causes, prevention techniques, and representment. The curriculum was created by a team of industry experts including Russo, Erika Gallo from ReD Worldwide; Jill Thomsen from Corbis Corporation; Jamon Whitehead from Backcountry.com; Clint Sereday from Riot Games; and Carolyn Davis from Ticketmaster Entertainment. This panel of chargeback experts will look to help merchants traverse the ever changing world of chargebacks and create processes to potentially mitigate and manage them moving forward. Russo will focus on advanced representment techniques related to compelling evidence, arbitration processes and friendly fraud.

cleverbridge Global Fraud Manager Tabitha Stang will also be sharing her expertise on preventing future fraud attacks when she presents “Beyond Device Fingerprinting” on Oct. 8 from 10:15-11:15 p.m. Going beyond device fingerprinting, Stang will be presenting on data models and techniques that show how to prevent future fraud attacks from even the most sophisticated fraudsters. She will also highlight how merchants can do it themselves in SQL without requesting any development resources. The session is an excellent opportunity for merchants to maximize their fraud prevention models and provide post-order analysis to their fraud representatives.
