Ecommerce Eye Candy – Ten Customer Service Trends to Watch in 2014 [Infographic]

By reading last week’s Five Trends to Put Your Customer Service Ahead of Your Competition you learned what customer service trends can improve your business. This infographic from Comm100, a provider of live chat software and email marketing software, illustrates some of this information in a unique way.

The infographic begins with an inspiring quote from JFK regarding the importance of change for the sake of improvement. Coincidentally, I came across this quote from another great 20th century world leader on the same topic:

I am sure that as a business owner or someone in charge of driving revenue for your company that customer service is not always at the top of your mind. Creating and selling a product is hard enough with all the technical aspects of building a viable and helpful software program, and all the communicative aspects of marketing and sales. But at some point, and it should be sooner rather than later, you need to think about your customer’s experience not just in terms of using your product or completing a checkout process, but in how you provide service when customers ask for help or when they need it without even realizing it. And then you need to ask yourself, “How can I change my customer service offering for the better? What can I do to improve?”

The first thing you want to beat into your mind is is that customer service not just something that costs your business money. Yes, it’s expensive to do right, but customer service brings value that creates loyal customers.

Tell us what changes you’ve made to improve your customer service in the comment section below.
